Located along Highway 4 in Contra Costa County, Brentwood is one of the fastest-growing cities in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Highway 4 and the BART extension provide easy access for Brentwood’s San Francisco-bound commuters.

Brentwood has a population of about 60,000 residents but the city has maintained its small-town, family-centered culture. Its scenic location is known for its farms, vineyards, and views of Mount Diablo.

Brentwood is served by three public school districts: Brentwood Union School DistrictKnightsen School District, and Liberty Union High School District. Many schools in Brentwood Union have earned the California Distinguished School award. Heritage High School, which is part of the Liberty Union High School District, has the highest Academic Performance Index in the area.

Family farms are still part of the community fabric in Brentwood. Farmers’ markets and U-pick farms provide opportunties for residents to enjoy the abundance of locally-grown fruits and vegetables.

Community events and gatherings in Brentwood include the Art, Wine and Jazz Festival, Harvest Time Festival, Hometown Halloween and the Holiday Parade. On the first Saturday of each month between August and February, residents enjoy Downtown Saturdays. Each week has a special theme, focus, or event.

Brentwood’s proximity to the Delta is great for weekend boating enthusiasts.
